Where the idea came from

A frame is bought for something already loved — a wedding photograph, a child at four, a print carried home from a trip. That is a small transaction with a disproportionate amount of feeling in it, and it goes wrong in two dull, avoidable ways.

The first is arithmetic. A frame sold as 11×14 inches holds an 8×10 photograph once the mat is in place, and a buyer who reads only one of those numbers ends up with a print that floats or will not fit at all. The second is the road. Glass survives being chosen carefully and then fails in a carton that was packed in thirty seconds.

So the shop is built around those two failures. Both measurements on every page, in plain figures. And packing that assumes the parcel will be dropped at least once, because it will.

How a frame reaches you

Nothing here is dramatic, and that is the point. An order arrives and joins the queue for that working day if it is confirmed before 3:00 PM IST. During handling the frame comes out of its wrapping and is turned under a light — hairline cracks in glazing hide until you angle them. The mat opening is measured against what the page promised. The hanging hardware is counted, because a frame with no hook is a frame you cannot use tonight.

Then it is packed: each frame is corner-protected, the glazing is faced with board, and the whole piece is double-boxed with fragile marking on the outer carton. It leaves Thane with Delhivery / DTDC and reaches most metro addresses in 3 to 5 business days.

The 48 hours that matter

Framed pieces travel with glass. Check the parcel for breakage while the courier is still at your door, and film the unboxing within 48 hours if anything is cracked. A video costs you a minute and settles a broken pane in one email instead of five. It is the single most useful thing a customer can do for themselves, and we say so on four pages of this site because it is that important.

What we are not

We are a retailer, not a manufacturer and not an authorised agent for anyone. There is no showroom to visit and no framing counter — the registered address is where parcels are packed. We do not offer a warranty of our own, we do not certify timber species, and we do not send original art or documents of value into a shop-bought frame without saying that a conservation framer is the right answer instead.

How we work, in practical terms

• Online only. Photo Frame Factory runs entirely online, with no shop or framing counter. Orders are dispatched from Thane, Maharashtra.
• Shipping. Free at ₹999 and above; flat ₹59 below that. Handling 1 to 2 business days, then transit 3 to 7 business days.
• Returns. 10 days from delivery on unhung frames in the original packaging, refunded within 5-7 business days.
• Payment. UPI or Cash on Delivery, in Indian rupees. We do not accept cards or PayPal, and we never store payment details.
• The business is not registered for GST. GST registration is not applicable to the business at this time, so GST is not charged separately on orders and we cannot issue a GST tax invoice bearing a GSTIN. An order invoice is included with the parcel; it is not a GST tax invoice.Not registered for GST — GST is not charged separately and no GST tax invoice bearing a GSTIN is issued. The price shown is the final price — nothing extra is charged at checkout.
• On arrival. Check the carton before signing, film the unboxing, and report cracked glazing within 48 hours.
